Julius Ceaser's Shakespeare

Ever since I was young, Shakespeare's mighty works have had me by the pants. The way he manipulated his words and sentences, paved the way for other writers to take hold the English language.  Imagine what would go on without such a bold man...

Anyway, I am not here to speak of such childish history, but of another. The production, Juluis Ceaser has struck thousands around the world.  Today, the family's play has toured and been a focus of many prestigious schools for it's study.

Not only did Shakespeare keep the historical text, he maintained the honor and decency of Ancient Rome.  I have had a soft spot in my heart for Rome for a very long time and after reading this proud play, I love it even more.  Also having been there, Shakespeare has captured the atomic atmosphere exceptionally!

Unfortunately, not much is known about Shakespeare's personal history and past.  Such an intelligent man had a powerful mind to manipulate things beyond all belief.  What would it take one of us to forge ahead and wrote like we never have before, invent new words and ways to put then together?  I know it might take me a while...

Many movies and books have tried to put some explanation behind the man's powerful words and plays.  One of those great movies is 'Shakespeare in Love', which tried to put a reason to writing Romeo and Juliette's sad ending as well as Twelfth Night.

Anyway, our production was quite interesting.  Our ensemble had four weeks to come together and preform such a great work.

Much to all our surprise, we pulled it off and managed to struggle through our first two performances.  Then by the third, we realized that we were not as bad as we thought (but no one thought we were in the first place).  We had felt as though we properly worked together as a group.

I really enjoyed my time there and learned a lot about his writing.  I hope to keep things up in the future studying and acting from his works.

PS.  I just got into a play called Midsummer's Night's Jersey (a parody of Midsummer's Night's Dream).

Post Views Sorted By Operating Systems

Now hello viewers.  :)  I am happy that a lot of people read my blog.  Now, I enjoy technology as much as the next teen but hey... Apple is really like a giant monster who eats a bunch of good systems.  I do play games online and on Windows Software and even though they are often times overrated.

Anyway, I thought all my viewers might enjoy seeing how many other people are on the same systems as you, or if you are really unique, like me.  ^.^

Well, tell me what system you use and what system you might want to use...  Personally, I would want to use a Linux cause I have never used them.  :P

By the way, I also want to congratulate my readers on staying with me for about a year now.  I am very happy you all have enjoyed my writings.  I promise you all, I am working on a few new posts now...

(See all the drafts I am working on... all for you my lovely readers...  ^.^)

Anyways, you'll hear from me soon.  Peace out.  :D

Faith in humanity gone.

Today the universe reminded me that reality can smack you in the face whenever it wants.

Anyway, this morning, the person I really love in my life tried to give me some advice about things.  As you might have noticed, the Joker post has been taken down.  My darling Mother talked to me about all the crazies in this world who would do nasty things.  Of course I know this and believe me, I can see what they have done.  I love watching crime shows and reading about the mentality of psychos (I find their mind-sets and drives interesting for psychology).

However, the things that allow me to post pictures of myself on the internet (and rarely I actually do) and talk about myself, is because I trust the world and general humanity.  I find that human beings all have something deep inside them that allows them to connect and relate to other humans and living things.  Many people call this empathy and hope.  Nonetheless, I have that in me (perhaps too much) and I assumed that others do as well.

Being wrong, I was convinced to take down the post.  I know my Mother is looking out for me and just wanting the best.  I agree with her now but really, I am still in denial.  I still think that humanity is better than we all think.  She told me, "That is what everyone thinks.  They all say that it won't happen to them, not this time.  They all think that until their picture is on the news..."  I guess my faith in humanity was crushed.
this was the post i took down.
Why can't people be good to one another?  Why do these things have to happen?

Worse, I also had a picture of Itachi Uchiha and Orochimaru (from Naruto) on my Facebook profile wall, posing together like this:
(the mask on the right is not a devil mask.  it is a traditional Japanese mask worn by the God of Death.  it is not demonic in any form and is more respectful than offensive.)
My Mother again, told me that people might not understand this and jump to conclusion and make wrong assumptions.  "People who don't know you will judge.  People that don't know that you make weird art and draw things like this...  What about the people that haven't seen you in a while think...  Think of your family.  What if you want to get a job?  What if they see the Joker pictures...  What will they think?"

I totally believe that my Mother is trying her best to keep me safe and give me a nice future but what about all the other people that are known for their cosplays, god or not.  What about artists that post their work everywhere, good or not, appropriate or not.  How does society judge them, because like it or not, society is the biggest dream crusher out there.  For the people that are not afraid to break through and be who they were born to be, they are the ones who get shot down.

I am clearly not afraid to be who I want, be who I was born to be and express myself, but why lie to myself and express that elsewhere?  Obviously people seem to enjoy my thoughts or creativity.  Those who don't, I have no right to look upon you harshly either.  You are entitled to your opinions too, as are those who enjoy what I do.

Anyways, I am feeling quite hurt right now, seeing that humanity is as it is...  full of judgment and hatred.  However, there are good things going on as well, but if you haven't noticed, those good things are budded from people taking chances in life, trusting other people, and not judging:  something called acceptance!  I see how these images and things might put me in jeopardy of getting a job, but the people I want to work with are accepting, honorable, empathetic, trustworthy, passionate, and good people.  Would a person I described turn me away from having artistic passions, writing my feelings and reflecting on them?

I live by one major rule of thumb.  So far it has not let me down:
Do whatever you want in life as long as it does not affect other people's learning experience.*

A very simple rule, something easy to live by.  I highly suggest that other people live by it too...

But besides that, I also try to be the best person I can be to my fellow humanity.  I do my best to try and understand people, not judging them for what they do because everyone has their reasons.  If we don't know the reasons, we have no right to accuse them of anything, mentally or verbally.

In all, I do not blame or have any bad feelings towards my mother.  She works very hard to be a good Mother and love me dearly.  I thank her for this eye opening experience.  It has shown me that people are not as loving as I thought and I need to be more careful with what happens to my faith in humanity.

*i learned this from a very smart man, who taught me a lot in this world, who was the one who gave me faith in humanity to begin with...  i give him a lot of credit for the way i live now.

Cosplay (again... I guess...)

Yes everyone, I went to another Cosplay. Well, you could say I brought the Cosplay to where I went. Today I was at drama classes (yes I study over the summer...), which is more like a fun camp (we are soon going to put on the play Julius Caesar), in celebration of Batman's 75 birthday/ anniversary, I dressed up as the Joker and my friend Batman.

Let's just say, it was epic. Anything with the Joker I just epic, but this was more than that even!  Because I am a woman, I cannot gender bend to become a man for the day.  Instead, we just rolled with it and made our own version.  Now Harley Quinn though, she is too cool and slightly inappropriate for drama classes (we still had to do blocking in iur costumes).

Instead we just really made the Joker look really interesting.  There was a lot of stuff in him and cool makeup to frighten away the heroes.

Actually, I got cut by my dog just yesterday and it was right where one of the Joker scars actually is.  That is what gave me the ultimate idea... Why not be the Joker for my favourites Hero's birthday...

Then today I got all decked out...  I took inspiration from a few of these:

Ultimately, that lead the this...

Because of this 'cosplay' I actually got a few people interested in doing it with me next time, if I actually go with it...  I am not very good at doing the Joker's voice so...  Maybe, maybe not...

Anyway, tomorrow we are doing something similar.  At our classes, the theme is super Hero's and we decided to crash with the Joker and his minions.  Of course, Batman will be there to try to stop him...  "Mwahahahahahhaha."

We really are going to do a little skit where the Joker turns another hero (nick from the avengers) into his own minion through his strange laughing gas (which makes you 'laugh to death').  The Joker then places a Joker smile on their face as they then are officially converted into his minion.

Wish my group luck for it will look like a flash mob...

Thanks readers and if you all really want to see the pics, comment and share below.

Oh, just before I forget, you can't have the Joker without his Harley...

Shoutout to my lovely viewers! :D You know who you all are...

Hello everyone yet again.  Elena here and guess what made me smile today?  I think some of your awesome readers may already know...  :D  You all! Yes, I often check where people are reading my blog from.  This setting also tells me who many people have read my blog.  If you have a blog, I am sure you are familiar with this cool function.  Not only does it give writers more confidence that their writing is being enjoyed, but it also tells us what kind of topics to write on based on the location from where the readers come from.

Today I went on this cool function and smiles a big smile.  Since I have already proudly reached 2,000 viewers, I have decided to take a closer look on where these amazing readers were coming from.  I found this:1046 of my viewers are from the United States!!!!  Wow...  The United States of America enjoys reading my work.  Now, I know that the US has a huge population of people and my amount of viewers is only a super small amount, but none the less, I am still very pleased.  This means a lot to me.

As a young writer (in some sense) and believer in humanity, everyday when the number of viewers goes up even by one, it brings a smile to my face.  Perhaps that means that another soul read some of the work I put a lot of time into, as well as my soul and feelings.

Keep reading and don't forget to vote on the poll at the bottom of my blog page.  Remember, your answers and comments are valued deeply!  :D

Japan

Hello my lovely readers.  I am in a great mood today (more like for the past few days actually...  depside my knee and long plane rides).  As some of you (hopefully all.  :P) may know, I love certain things in life like travel.

About a year ago over the summer, I was given the opportunity to go to Japan.  Knowing me, you all know what happened next (I TOOK IT WITH A 'HELL YES' FACE).

It was AMAZING!  Firstly, Japan is super unique (like me).  Secondly, there are Asians there and not many tourists (cool).  Next, there are a bunch of cool cultural experiences to look into and try out, as well as the food.  Lastly, everything there is a little funky to super traditional.  The younger people are pretty modern and almost space-like.  Their clothing is definitely 21st century and hip.  Then you see older people walking around in traditional clothing and shoes, functioning as well as the younger people.  This is find very interesting.

Well, being Japan and harbouring my love for cosplay, I knew I had to buy a few things.  One of the things I NEEDED (and I ask for very few things) was the Itachi Uchiha Akatsuki robe.  It needed to be perfect and very high quality.  Many of the other robes that are sold in the United States or other parts of Asia are not as high quality and the designs on the robe might not be in the correct (according to the manga/ anime) places.  So, picking this robe was tricky...  Way harder than anything I have ever really done before.

After a few days of looking around in Tokyo, still no robe.  (I think I might have told this story before...  If so, just bare with me.  ^.^)  We decided to just (not give up but...) look another time.  With heavy hearts, my family and I (mainly me.  :P) moved on for the rest of our trip.  On our last day back in Tokyo we decided to look one last time.  We had only two hours until our flight left and we spent them wholeheartedly searching for this robe.  Finally, in the last few minutes and last possible shop, we find it.  Not only was this the highest quality robe I have EVER seen/ felt, but it fit perfectly!  (I try to stay away from the 'fit like a glove' phrase because frankly, no gloves ever fit me.  I have weirdly small child-hands.)

Anyway, being back in Tokyo, we wanted to stock up on some more cheaper and higher quality cosplay materials.  For my sister, she wanted the Sasuke Uchiha cosplay costume to match and go along with mine (being siblings).  We searched and searched but nothing.  There was a cosplay the very next day and we needed to get her something desperately.  Still there was nothing...  Eventually we had to go with buying her a Naruto Shippuden outfit (which fit her perfect!) and a long blond girl's wig.  Since that is NOT Naruto's hair, we made her into a girl version, which actually has been cosplay-ed in before.

The next day we woke up early at around 8am and ate breakfast.  When we got back to the room it was around 8:45am and we got right to cleaning our face and getting on our shirts (and for my sister, her orange jumpsuit).

After we did our make-up.  I did hers (as usual) and when we finished, it was 10:30am.  We decided to take a taxi there and we sadly had forgotten to do our eye-lashes but no matter.  :P

(I PROMISE to put up pictures as soon as I get them downloaded and developed.  :P)

Well, that was my Tokyo experience.  I am now back in the United States and kickin' it here.  ^.^  Peace out peeps and until next post.  ;)

Cosplay

Hello everyone.  I'm a huge cosplayer, as I hope you all have realised by now.  I mainly cosplay from the manga (which is better in my belief) and the anime Naruto (or Naruto Shippuden).  A few days ago I went to another cosplay by CostaFest Asia and it was the Black Market event here in Singapore.  It was the first time they have ever been on Resorts World Sentosa and history was made that day.  I was an amazing feeling to be a part of it.

Here are some of the pics:
This footage was taken when we were on the way there by taxi.  The ride is usually about 20-30 minutes from my house so we had a nice and relaxing ride to and from Sentosa.  I sat in the front and my little sister who also was with us and participating in the cosplay, sat in the back with Valerie.

At the cosplay we had a ball! We gave Valerie a nice hat, similar to a character we created for her.  Sadly I could not match her to any character in the same manga/ anime that I cosplay in so we created her own.  ^.^  Sometimes people ask who she represents but none of them really mind when we say "she is her own character".  Thank Heavens for kindness and empathy people generally posses.  :D

The lovely man on the left is +Robert Picard, my lovely boyfriend (at the moment).  He is super supportive about my interests and one of them is cosplay.  He came with my for the first time and seemed to really enjoy it.  I hope me and him get to go to a few more.

We decided to take a funny photo to commemerate our cosplay day out.  Me, on the left, +Valerie Antoni next to me, and my little sister Karina on the far right.  +Robert Picard took the lovely photo for us and I still am laughing at the amazing face my sister managed to make.  Heavan knows how she did it and how she gets so many laughs from my friends and hers from it.  Al in all, it was a hilarious day filled with excitment and joy.

On the nice taxi ride home.  Honestly, it seemed longer going there than on the way back.  ^.^

Because I posses a passion for art and makeup, I enjoy doing stage and cinema makeup styling.  So, whenever I get the good chance (Halloween, events, photoshoots, cosplays, etc...) I take it with open arms and clean brushes.  Here is exclusive footage that was taken in the makeup process with my best friend +Valerie Antoni.  Some of the other footages are her when she was finished but here is before I put the scar on her and finished her under-eyes and nose area.

Again, I want to thank my readers (which I seem to do at every end of my posts.  who wouldn't thank all of you guys...  :P) for being supportive and hanging on to my work as I make my way through life.  Although I will probably never know you all, I am happy that you all support my deep thoughts about life and the meanings we all seem to encounter.

To check out more of my thoughts, just check out more of the posts.  PLEASE, PLEASE vote on my poll to let me know what my readers want to hear more about.  You can even add a comment and ask a question you will want to be answered on my next post.

Remember, take life as it comes and enjoy it while you can.  A lot of people seem to look down on cosplayers because they fear and think that by posting your picture out into the web, you will jeopardize your chances of getting a job or advancing up in later life.  Some cultures think that cosplayers are dirty people or are too addicted to what they do but I actually see it as an art form.  Art is a special thing and it is almost sacred to me and my life.  I take it in many ways and to me and others, cosplay is just another form of expression and drama, the fine arts that their finest.
